Volunteering in schools

Developing confident volunteers

Preparing volunteers to make a contribution to the education of children and young people.

There are many areas of life where an extra person can add value to your work. Many organisations have recognised the value of volunteers to their work in helping them to get their message across or just supporting in what are more specialist areas.

WA partnership has built up a lot of experience working with the charitable and private sectors in supporting them to develop volunteering programmes for their employees or members.

Working with:

The British Humanist Association (BHA) to develop their members as volunteers to contribute to the education of young people.

HSBC (with the then pfeg)  to develop employee volunteers to deliver financial education in schools as part of a large primary school programme What Money Means.

HMRC to encourage employee volunteers to help young people to learn about the tax system.

Citizens Advice to explore with them how they could increase the contribution they could make to the financial and consumer education of young people.
